We YTB Travelers enjoyed a fine week-end getaway in Lynn Haven, Florida. The main reasons for our visit were to celebrate family events with our son and his family.
The “main events” of the visit were: our Grandson’s season-finale Little-League game; his First Holy Communion; and, our Granddaughter’s Pre-K graduation. Our daughter-in-law’s entire family was able to attend. It was a grand occasion - a true reunion. Our daughter-in-law put on such a feast for the clan, it deserves special mention. The pulled pork barbeque, the grilled chicken, the home-made Mac N’ Cheese, the garden fresh collards with ham hock, and home-grown vegetables were the best! If you ever want to enjoy a real southern barbeque, don’t hesitate to call us for the recipes.
Along the way, we enjoyed many happy experiences. Notably, we highly recommend Hammerhead Fred’s on Panama City Beach. The food was excellent; and, our server, Christopher did a great job with our group of 15 diners. The sunset on the beach, that evening, was a classic to behold. Even though we were “skunked” in our beach fishing, the family fun and fellowship was superb.
After all of the fine family festivities, we bade farewell and drove SE along Highway 98 to Apalachicola. Our visit there was highlighted by several fine shops and restaurants. Notably: Lynns Quality Oysters, Artemis Gallery and Apalachicola Sponge Company
The drive east on Highway 98, along the Gulf of Mexico, is a true pearl of the panhandle region of Florida. If you’re ever in the area, you will enjoy the drive

Hi Gary,
Looks like I’ll be hitting you up on some of those barbacue recipes you gathered on your trip. I shouldn’t read your posts when I’m hungry!
